Ukrainian Arts Gift Shop/

The gift shop under the church  has  all the materials necessary for making Ukrainian Easter Eggs – Pysanky.  There are kistky, dyes and wax, as well as design books with traditional Pysanky designs.  Beautiful Easter cards may also be found in the gift shop.  Please stop in.  Thank you.

LENTEN MISSION

Our Lenten Mission will take place on Friday, March 19 through Sunday March 21, 2010. Father Albert Forlano will conduct the Mission in English on March 19-21, and Father Roman Malyarchuk will hold the Mission in Ukrainian starting Sunday afternoon, March 21 through Wednesday, March 23, 2010. Easter confessions will be conducted throughout the mission on Friday, Saturday, Sunday morning in English; and Sunday afternoon, Monday and Tuesday in Ukrainian.

VENERATION OF THE HOLY CROSS

(Liturgy of St. Basil the Great)

TROPAR: (Resurrectional Tone7): By Your cross You destroyed death; You opened Paradise to the thief; You changed the lamentation of the myrrh-bearers to joy, and charged the apostles to proclaim that You are risen, O Christ our God, offering great mercy to the world.

TROPAR (Tone 1) : Save Your people, O Lord, and bless Your inheritance. Grant victory to Your Church over Your enemies and by the power of Your Cross protect all of us.

TROPAR (Tone 4) : Today is the fountain-head of our salvation * and the revelation of an eternal mystery: * the Son of God becomes a virgin's Son, * and Gabriel announces this grace. * Therefore, let us exclaim with him to the Mother of God: * "Hail, O Woman Full of Grace, * the Lord is with you.''

            Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,

KONDAK (Tone 8) : O Mother of God, * we, your servants, sing a hymn of thanks to you, * a hymn of triumph to a valiant leader; * for you have delivered us from all peril. * We now exclaim to you: * "Hail, O Bride and Virgin Ever-pure."

Your body became a throne, and your womb was more spacious than heaven.  All creation praises you for you are full of grace.  Glory to you.
