Maria Zobniw Day – A Celebration of the Life of Maria – July 21, 2010
The organizers and family of Maria are grateful for our community’s participation at the Maria Zobniw proclamation of July 21, 2010 as “Maria Zobniw Day – A Celebration of the Life of Maria”. Our attendance at this event reflected positively on our community. This event was organized by the supervisor of Town of Dickinson, Mr. Michael Marinaccio and Broome County. Everyone is encouraged to visit the monument on Prospect Street where our parish is prominently listed on the monument. The monument has the following engraving:
"Town of Dickinson and Broome County proclaims July 21, 2010 Maria Zobniw Day. For Maria's Family, for the Ukrainian Community, and for society as a whole, Maria's Remembrance, Deeds and Examples are everlasting jewels. ANNUAL 56th DORMITION PILGRIMAGE
St. Mary’s Villa Sloatsburg
New York
August 15, 2009
Anyone interested in taking a bus trip to Sloatsburg, please sign up on the list posted by the church entrance door. On Sunday, August 15, 2010 a 30-person bus will travel to the annual Holy Dormition Pilgrimage at the Motherhouse of the Sister Servants of Mary Immaculate, Sloatsburg, NY departing from the Sacred Heart Church parking lot promptly at 5:30 AM. Cost is $15.00 per person.

TROPAR (tone 8): You came down from on high, O Merciful One, and accepted three days of burial to free us from our sufferings. O Lord, our life and our resurrection, glory be to You.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit now and for ever and ever. Amen
KONDAK (tone 8): When You rose from the tomb, You also raised the dead and resurrected Adam. Eve exults in Your resurrection, and the ends of the world celebrate Your rising from the dead, O most merciful One.
PROKIMEN (tone 8): Pray and give praise to the Lord our God.
