BIRTHRIGHT MOTHER’S DAY

FLOWERS: A Thank You For Life

After each Divine Liturgy on Sunday, May 13, volunteers will be taking donations for Birthright of Binghamton.  For each $1 donation, you get a beautiful carnation to honor your mother, to take home, or to honor our Blessed Mother.  The donations enable Birthright to help mothers in need and girls in crisis pregnancy in our area to give birth and care for their babies.

CEMETERY

Spring is here.  It is time to make our cemetery clean and presentable.  When upkeeping the graves of your beloved departed, please be mindful and throw any organic garbage (dirt, flowers, etc.) over the embankment, not in the trash containers.  Also, please try to take as much non-organic garbage back home with you for disposal, even if left by others, PLEASE!

The Preservation Association of the Southern Tier (PAST) is co-sponsoring with The New York Landmarks Conservancy a Sacred Sites Open House on Sunday, May 18, 2024 at various times between 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This state wide event is Free and Open to the Public.  To obtain a listing of the twenty-three Sacred Sites open in the Southern Tier, Binghamton, Johnson City, Port Dickinson, Hillcrest and Endicott, go to www. pastny.org, local libraries, history centers, and religious sites. The theme this year is:

Welcoming Our Neighbors.  Experience the architecture, culture, and history of our community.

This is an opportunity for the public to be a tourist in their own neighborhood and view the interiors of these magnificent buildings.

Тропар Томиної Неділі голос 7:  Хоч і запечатаний був гріб,* як життя із гробу возсіяв Ти, Христе Боже,* і, хоч замкнені були двері,* ученикам представ єси, як воскресіння всіх,* дух правий через них обновлюючи нам,* по великій Твоїй милості.

Слава Отцю і Сину і Святому Духові; і нині і повсякчас і на віки вічні. Амінь.

Кондак Томиної Неділі голос 8:  Допитливою десницею* життєдайні Твої ребра Тома провірив, Христе Боже,* бо, хоч замкнені були двері, як Ти увійшов,* він із іншими апостолами кликав до Тебе:* Господь єси і Бог мій.

Прокімен Томиної Неділі голос 3:  Великий Господь наш і велика сила Його, і розумові Його немає міри (Пс. 146,5).

Замість «Достойно є»: Ангел сповіщав Благодатній: Чистая Діво, радуйся. І знову кажу: радуйся.  Твій Син воскрес тридевний із гробу, і мертвих воздвигнув Він.  Люди, веселіться.  Світися, світися, новий Єрусалиме, слава бо Господня на тобі возсіяла. Радій нині й веселися, Сіоне.  А Ти Чистая, красуйся. Богородице, востанням рождення Твого.

Причасний: Похвали, Єрисалиме, Господа, хвали Бога Твого, Сіоне (Пс 147.1). Алилуя. (3)

Замість «Благословен, хто йде ...» і «Ми бачили ...» співається: «Христос Воскрес ...».

Замість «Нехай сповниться ...» і «Нехай буде ім’я ...» співаємо «Христос Воскрес ...» (3).

Замість «Слава Отцю і Сину і Святому Духові ...»співається: «Христос Воскрес ...». 

А на кінець літургії співаємо «Христос Воскрес ...» (3). 

І Cв. Тоді   «І нам дарував життя вічне,»

і вірні,    «поклоняємось Його на третій день воскресіння.»

At the beginning of Liturgy, “Christ is Risen” is sung 3 times, until the leave-taking of Pascha

Tropar of St. Thomas Sunday Tone 7:  While the tomb was sealed, O Christ God, You dawned as life from the sepulcher, and while the doors were shut, You came to Your disciples, the Resurrection of all, renewing a right spirit in us through them, according to Your great mercy.

Glory be to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit; now and forever and ever.  Amen

Kondak of St. Thomas Sunday Tone 8:  With his searching hand, Thomas explored Your life-giving side, O Christ God.  For when You entered while the doors were shut, he called out to you with the rest of the Apostles:  You are my Lord and my God!

Prokimen of St. Thomas Sunday Tone 3:  Great is our Lord and great is His strength; and of His knowledge there is no end.

            Verse: Praise the Lord, for a psalm is good; may praise be sweet to our God.

Alleluia: (Ps 94/95)  Come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord, let us acclaim God, our Savior.

            Verse: For God is the great Lord and the great king over all the earth.  Alleluia. (3)

The irmos (instead of “It is truly proper”):  The Angel cried out to the One full of grace; O chaste Virgin, rejoice! And again I say, Rejoice!  Your Son has risen from the tomb on the third day, and raised the dead.  Let all people rejoice!  Shine, shine, O new Jerusalem!  For the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! Exult now and be glad, O Sion! And you, O chaste Mother of God, take delight in the resurrection of your Son.

Communion Verse:  Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem.* Praise your God, O Sion.  Alleluia. (3)

At Communion, “Christ is Risen ...” replaces “Blessed is He ...,” and “We have seen the true light ...” at “Let our mouths be filled ...”, we sing “Christ is Risen” three times. 

Instead of“Blessed is the name of the Lord ...”we sing “Christ is Risen” (3x). 

And at the ending, instead of “Glory be ...”we sing “Christ is Risen”. 

After liturgy, we sing: “Christ is Risen from the dead …” (3x)

Then thePriest:  “And to us he has granted life eternal;”

People:“we bow down before His resurrection on the third day.”
