12th SUNDAY AFTER THE DESCENT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

POST-FEAST OF THE DORMITION

The Translation from Edessa to Constantinople of the Holy Icon “Not Made with Hands” of our Lord, God and Savior Jesus Christ also called “the Holy Veil”;

Tropar Resurrectional Tone 3:  Let the heavens be glad, let the earth rejoice, for the Lord has done a mighty deed with His arm. He trampled death by death. He became the first-born of the dead; He saved us from the abyss of Hades and granted great mercy to the world.

Tropar of the feast, Tone 1: In giving birth you retained your virginity,* in falling asleep you did not abandon the world, O Mother of God.* You passed into life, for you are the Mother of Life,* and by your prayers you deliver our souls from death.

Tropar of icons:  We bow before Your most pure image, O kind Lord,* and beg pardon for our sins, O Christ our God.*  Of Your own will* You consented to ascend the cross in the flesh to free your handiwork from the enslavement to the enemy.*  In thanksgiving, we cry aloud to You:*  By coming to save the world, our Savior,* You filled all things with joy.

            Glory be to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit;

Kondak Resurrectional Tone 3:  You rose from the tomb, O compassionate Lord,* and led us out from the gates of death.* Today Adam exults and Eve rejoices,* and the prophets together with the patriarchs unceasingly acclaim the divine might of Your power.

Kondak of the feast, Tone 2: The tomb and death could not hold the Mother of God,* unceasing in her intercession and unfailing hope of patronage,* for as the Mother of Life,* she was transferred to life by Him Who had dwelt in her ever virgin womb.

            Now and forever and ever. Amen

Kondak of the icons:  The uncircumscribed Word of the Father became circumscribed when He took flesh of you, O Mother of God;* and when he restored the divine image to its ancient glory,* He suffused it with the beauty of God.* Therefore, confessing our salvation in deed and word,* we portray it in images.

Prokimen, Resurrectional Tone 3 : Sing to our God, sing;* sing to our King, sing. (Ps. 47:7)

            Verse: Clap your hands, all you nations; shout unto God with the voice of joy. (Ps. 47:7,2)

Prokimen of the feast, tone 3: My soul magnifies the Lord,* and my spirit has rejoiced in God, my Savior. (Lk 1:46-7)

Alleluia, Resurrectional Tone 3: In You, O Lord, have I hoped that I may not be put to shame for ever.

            Verse: Be a protector unto me, O God, and a house of refuge to save me. (Ps. 31: 2, 3) Alleluia (3)

Alleluia verses - Psalm 131 (132) of the feast:  Rise up, Lord, to the place of Your rest, You and the ark of Your holiness.

Verse:  The Lord swore an oath to David, and will not go back on His Word.

The Irmos, Tone 1, instead of "It is truly right":  Seeing the pure one's falling asleep, angels marveled in wonder how the Virgin could ascend from earth to heaven.  O, Pure Virgin, in you are conquered the bounds of nature,* for childbirth remains virginal and death is betrothed to life.* Virgin after childbearing and alive after death, O Mother of God,* never cease to save your inheritance. 

Communion Verse: Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise Him in the highest. (Ps. 148:1) 

Communion verse of the feast - Psalm 115 (116):  I will take the chalice of salvation;*  and I will call upon the name of the Lord. Alleluia (Thrice).

Тропар Воскресний Голос 3: Нехай веселяться небесні, нехай радуються земляни,* бо показав владу рукою Своєю Господь.* Він смертю смерть подолав,* первістком з-поміж мертвих став,* визволив нас із глибин аду* i подав світові велику милість.

Тропар Успінні, голос 1:  У різдві дівство зберегла Ти.* в успенні світа не оставила Ти, Богородице,* Переставилася Ти до життя, бувши Матір’ю Життя.*  І молитвами Твоїми* ізбавляєш від смерти душі наші. 

Тропар іконів голос 2:  Пречистому образові поклоняємось Благий,* просячи прощення прогрішень наших, Христе Боже,* бо волею благоволив єси плоттю зійти на хрест,* щоб ізбавити тих, що їх створив єси, від неволої ворожої.*  Тому благодарственно кличемо Тобі:*  Ти радістю сповнив усе, Спасе наш, прийшовши спасти світ.

            Слава Отцю і Сину і Святому Духові;

Кондак, Воскресний Голос 3: Воскрес Ти нині з гробу, Щедрий,* i нас вивів із брам смерти;* нині Адам веселиться і радіє Єва,* разом же i пророки з патріярхами безустанно оспівують* божественну могутність влади Твоєї.

Кондак Успінні, голос 2:  В молитвах невсипущу Богородицю* і в заступництвах незамінне уповання* гріб і умертвіння не втримали.*  Бо як Матір Життя до життя перестав той,* хто вселився в утробу приснодівственну.

            І нині і повсякчас і на віки вічні. Амінь.

Кондак іконів голос 8:  Неописанне Слово Отче* із тебе, Богородице воплоченням описалося* і, оскверненний образ у давне зобразивши,* з божественною добротою з’єднало,* та, ісповідуючи спасення, ділом і словом ми це являємо.

Прокімен, Воскресний Голос 3 : Співайте Богові нашому, співайте;* співайте цареві нашому, співайте. (Пс 47,7)

            Стих:  Всі народи, заплещіть руками, кликніть до Бога голосом радости. (Пс 47,2)

Прокімен Богородиці, голос 3:  Величає душе моя Господа* і возрадувався дух мій у Бозі, Спасі Моїм.(Лк 1,46-47)

Алилуя, Воскресний Голос 3 : На Тебе, Господи, уповаю, щоб не осоромитись навіки. (Пс 31,2)

            Стих:  Будь мені Богом захисником і домом пристановища, щоб спасти мене. (Пс 31,3) 

Алилуя празника: Воскресни, Господи, в упокій Твій, Ти і кивот святині Твоєї. (Пс. 131,8)

Стих:  Клався Господь Давидові істиною і не відречеться її. ( Пс. 131,11)

Замість «Достойно є»:  Ангели, бачачи успення Пречистої, здивувалися, як Діви восходить із землі на небо.  Перемагають закони природи у Тобі, Діво чиста: бо дівственне є різдво, і смерть наперед заповідає життя; по різдві діва, і по смерті жива.  Спасаєш завжди, Богородице, насліддя Твоє.

Причасний: Хваліте Господа з небес, хваліте Його на висотах. (Пс 148,1)

Причасний Богородиці:  Чашу спасення прийму і ім’я Господнє призову. (Пс. 115,4) Алилуя. (3)
